Theater Works Presents Into the Woods
franc D'ambrosio

August 20th to September 12th

This brilliant musical by the great contemporary composer Stephen Sondheim re-tells the fairy tale stories of the Brothers Grimm - a princess who must run at midnight and loses her shoe, the childless couple that must lift a curse by an evil witch, a boy and his beanstalk, and that little girl in the red cloak on her way to grandmother's house - in a musical that explores both the whimsy of wishing and the darker side of the forest.

Each familiar character pursues their individual wish until the stories become entangled in unexpected ways - revealing what happens after "happily ever after." Stephen Sondheim's wickedly witty score weaves a magical spell with such bewitching gems as "Children Will Listen," "Giants In The Sky" and "No One Is Alone."

The Allergist's Wife

October 1st - October 17th

A raucous comedy from one of America's most outrageous playwrights! This hilarious tale is that of New York dilettante Marjorie Taub, a middleaged doctor's wife, hooked on culture - mornings at the Whitney, afternoons at MOMA and evenings at BAM. Plunged into a mid-life crisis of Medea-like proportions; her children are grown, her beloved therapist died recently, and her mother, obsessed with bowel-movements, grates on her nerves. She's shaken out of her lethargy by the reappearance of a fascinating childhood friend, but is this friend real or fantasy? "The Allergist's Wife earns its wall-to-wall laughs." NY Times.
