Everyone is a star in AdaptiveWorks! The AdaptiveWorks program provides genuine theatrical experiences to people with both mental and physical disabilities for ages 12 and up. From the audition process to the rehearsals and then finally to the performance; AdaptiveWorks actors are able to experience an actual theatrical production from start to finish. The 11-week program ends in a full main stage performance. Actors will focus on the performance side of theater. Building and expanding upon fundamentals, members will work together to create a show for the audiences. This program is for those who love acting and are ready to work hard to create something great.
Rehearsals will be twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays for an hour and a half. One day a week for a full cast rehearsal and one day a week to meet with smaller groups.
Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.
