AdaptiveWorks at TheaterWorks

AWLogoEveryone is a star in AdaptiveWorks! The AdaptiveWorks program provides genuine theatrical experiences to people with both mental and physical disabilities for ages 12 and up. From the audition process to the rehearsals and then finally to the performance; AdaptiveWorks actors are able to experience an actual theatrical production from start to finish. The 11-week program ends in a full main stage performance. Actors will focus on the performance side of theater. Building and expanding upon fundamentals, members will work together to create a show for the audiences. This program is for those who love acting and are ready to work hard to create something great. Rehearsals will be twice a week for an hour and a half. One day a week for a full cast rehearsal and one day a week to meet with smaller groups.

Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
