Description

The Broadway Dance workshop is a biweekly program with a rotating choreography team teaching participants a wide range of styles and techniques.

This class meets twice during the month and is offered in  August, Sept, Oct and December. (Ages 18+) 7-8:30pm $50/month
Each month is registered for separately. You can attend just one month of the workshop (2 classes) or as many months as you’d like. Each month offers a different instructor. Limited to 15 students!

INSTRUCTOR BIOS:

Morgan Rose-Johnson. Broadway: School of Rock (Dance Capt/Swing); Off-Broadway: Dear Edwina (Dance Capt/Swing); National Tours: Evita Revival 1st Nat’l Tour (Swing), Shrek The Musical 1st Nat’l Tour, Elf The Musical. In addition to performing, Morgan is a passionate arts educator. She recently relocated to Phoenix after 16 years in New York City where she is still guest faculty at Broadway Dance Center, Master Faculty for Joffrey Ballet School’s Musical Theatre Intensive, MTCA and AMDA. Morgan has served as Associate Director for Arts For Autism Benefit Concert the past three years and as Co-Choreographer for Michigan’s High School Music Theatre Award, the Sutton Foster Award. She he has been incredibly fortunate to work alongside some of New York’s most inspiring choreographers including Al Blackstone, Natalie Malotke, Ricky Hinds and Josh Bergasse. BFA Music Theatre Florida State University. Proud AEA Member.

Cydney Trent is a proud 20+ year member of Actors’ Equity. Originally from Denver, Colorado, she has lived and performed all across the country, as well as on the oceans aboard the Disney Magic. Her voice can be heard as Princess Petunia in the animated cartoon series, VeggieTales (2005-2015). Cydney was a rotating cast member with the Off Broadway company, Golf, The Musical, and has been seen performing across the Valley at Phoenix Theatre, Symphony Hall, Arizona Broadway Theatre, Herberger Theater Center and Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. She is also a Zoni-nominated choreographer. Her work was most recently on the TW stage in Newsies and she is currently the choreographer for Something Rotten. Cydney’s best-loved role is Mom to her beautiful 15 -year-old daughter, Marlee Gray.

With a rich tapestry of nearly 20 years immersed in the arts, Lizzie Baggleman brings a unique blend of theatrical expertise and educational dedication to the realm of teaching. For the past nine years, Lizzie Baggleman has served as an 8th-grade life skills teacher at Arizona School for the Arts, fostering a passion for learning and creativity among young minds.

Kat Bailes is a native Arizonan who performs, choreographs, and teaches at theaters all around the Valley. She is currently a teaching artist at Childsplay and the librarian at Lookout Mountain Elementary. Productions she has performed in or choregraphed include POTUS, American Psycho (Stray Cat Theatre), The Rocky Horror Show (Phoenix Theatre Company), Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Ella Enchanted, Elephant & Piggie’s We Are in a Show (Childsplay), The Toxic Avenger (Mesa Encore Theatre), The Wild Party (A/C Theatre), Bye Bye Birdie (Desert Foothills Theater), A Chorus Line, How to Succeed… (Theater Works), Hands on a Hardbody, Pinkalicious, Lucky Stiff (Arizona Broadway Theater), Bullets Over Broadway, Pippin (The Phoenix Theatre Company). Kat earned a BA in English/Creative Writing from ASU and graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York.
